It's the Final Countdown!

Well here we are.....our last week in Boston. It is truly hard to believe that the time has nearly arrived for us to return home. In keeping with the blog theme this week you can click on the player above for "The Final Countdown" courtesy of the 80s rock band, 'Europe'. This week has been a busy one for several reasons.... the moving company came and picked up our belongings on Tuesday so we have an empty apartment! Here's Kenzie looking a little worried about all of this activity.
And here she is getting in one last business call on her cell before the movers take it away...
Look at that big, empty apartment! Is that Little Miss taking a nap in the corner?

We love all of this new space to crawl freely. No pesky barricades or furniture to block the path.

Doing the infamous 'Kenzie point' at the camera.
This week we attended the fellowship graduation ceremony. It was really nice getting to be there with all of my friends to celebrate the completion of our fellowship training. I am really going to miss each of them but I know we will all keep in touch.
Kenzie had a blast at the graduation too.
Don't feel too bad for us not having any furniture and all. We made arrangements to stay at the Back Bay Hotel in Boston. It's a really nice hotel that was built in the old Boston Police headquarters.
I discovered that Kenzie's travel crib is actually very spacious!
The hotel has a nice little pub and Kenzie is pretty popular there-
"I Kenzie, summon you waitress to bring me that glass of water!"
Kenzie has learned that if she smiles really big she can get just about anything!

We are so excited to have Nana up to help us during the transition back home. She will be giving Jen some much needed relief in the coming days.
Do you think they are enjoying each other?
I suppose the next time I post we won't be lost in Boston anymore. This brings me to an interesting point. Obviously we are going to need a new name for our blog and honestly I am stumped. I would like to take this opportunity to solicit some ideas from everyone-Just post your best idea for our new blog title as a comment to this thread. Someone here in Boston jokingly suggested Hillbilly Harris' and I thought about it but I'm not sure if it's the right fit for us.
As always here's one last pic of Kenzie to end this post.
Best,
Ashley

Things are busy in the Harris household...

Apologies to all for the delay in posting this. Things have really been busy here in the Harris household. We've hit a major milestone since the last time we talked-Kenzie turned 1 year old on June 12th! It's hard to believe that our little girl is already 12 months old.

We kept our celebration small here in Boston. Of course we are planning a belated birthday bash when we make it back home in July. On Sunday we walked down and got Kenzie her own special birthday cupcake. I'm going to let the pictures do most of the talking-
Look who dropped by for the birthday celebration; it's the Grandmothers, Aunt Kathy, and Aunt Amber and Uncle Stephen! What would we do without Skype?
We were not too sure what to think about the cupcake at first.....
 Trying to share with Dad....
It's hard to believe that was once a cupcake!
After our cupcake, we got to open a few gifts.
We've been hard at work getting ready for our big move. The movers come next week to pick up our furniture so we'll be wrapping up our last week in Boston in a hotel. We're excited to have Nana coming up to help us keep it together over the next two weeks and we are going to put her to work! Maybe me and Jen can sneak in a dinner for two?! All of this action has Kenzie spinning in circles-see the video below...
In other news the Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup last night in game 7. I've never been a big hockey fan but I did watch some of the game and was proud of our team. As you might imagine, things were just a little noisy in downtown Boston last night.

I am also very excited to report that my brother Danny married his fiancee Ashley last weekend in Atlanta. Currently the happy couple is on a tropical honeymoon cruise and enjoying every minute I'm sure. Though I wasn't able to be there I hope to have lots of good pictures to share soon. This raises an interesting dilemma for Danny.... you see, his brother and wife are both named Ashley Harris!

Here are a few more pictures of Kenzie smiling it up for the camera. In two weeks we'll be home sweet home!

June is Upon Us!

Welcome June! We have finally been having some fantastic weather up here in Boston.  After the winter we had no one can say that we don't deserve it. I know when we move back to Mississippi we will be roasting on a daily basis so we better take full advantage of the time we have left.

This week I worked late several nights so we didn't get out and do too much. We did make it out for a walk in the public gardens. It is really incredibly beautiful this time of year...click on the images for a larger view.

I'm not a huge hockey fan but many of you may be aware that the Boston Bruins are playing the Vancouver Canucks for the Stanley Cup this year. (Canuck is just slang/short for Canadian in case you were wondering).  We are not off to a great start at 0-2 but there is still some hope. We've got an ace-in-the hole as George Washington has officially suited up and joined the team. We took these pictures of him wearing a Bruins jersey in the Garden.
With Washington's leadership, surely we will prevail!
For moral support, the ducklings in the garden are sporting Bruins jerseys too-
Kenzie enjoyed getting some sun....

Roman isn't really too interested in the weather outside. He's located his new favorite spot-chilling out with Kenzie's stuffed animals in her reading tent! Can you spot Roman?
Today some of the fellows got together for a Brazilian barbecue at Yasmin's house. The key ingredients for a Brazilian barbecue are meat and salt- let's just say I was in my own little piece of heaven.
Before grilling.....
There were no after grilling shots because I was too busy eating! Kenzie enjoyed hanging out with all of her friends. Here she is with Tia.
Here's some of the group. Can you see what's wrong with this picture. Tia figured out how to get herself in the panoramic shot twice! Can you find her?
We had a nice casual walk back to the apartment after dinner. Newbury street is one of the best streets for shopping/dining in Boston.
And here's a couple of pics of Kenzie just being Kenzie!
I'm not sure how it happened, but suddenly we've gone from having no teeth to five teeth! Now we are getting our two top front teeth (and yes there is a gap!). Her teeth are so cute but I have to confess I miss that gummy smile too.
All the best!
